About the data used in mixed-signal library

2 views (last 30 days)
In the mixed-signal library there is a digital pre-distortion model and in that real measured power amplifier data were used. In the digital predistortion tutorial there is picture of the test setup used to pass the generated data through the basestation power amplifier and the IQ signals were recorded. The whole procedure was carried out using matlab as the controler. I am trying to develop a digital predistorter and I want to use this data. So it would be very helpful for my research if you can give me some information about this data ant the equipments that has been used in this perticular test setup. Information such as the type of source data(ofdm or wcdma), bandwidth of the signal, name of the power amplifier used would be of very much importance to me. The data was named as 'Wideband_PA_Data.mat' in the mixed-signal library. Can you please give me the contact information of person/persons who have conducted this experiment?

Hi Riaz,
The source data was generated using a MATLAB script and was OFDM data. The PA was an nxp 500W LDMOS basestation PA, we used an AR 60W pre-amp, and the test equipment was all from Agilent.
The data has been normalized to make it easier to manipulate. The maximum input and output powers have been normalized to 1. I found out that doing this makes the subsequent calculations more accurate.
I am writing an article for a magazine that provides an overview of the process we followed, but you have the key details here.

P.S. For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, we're referring to the free mixed-signal library you can get from here: http://www.mathworks.com/programs/mixed-signal/

Can we use mixed signal library in matlab 2011a or matlab 2012a? If yes then how?

Hello! Sorry for my English, because I'm from Russia.I have some queastion. I want to create real work expirement with HF power amplifier on HF frequences 1.5-30 MHz with real bandwidth 3100 Hz. Can I create with mixed signal library working model of predistortion and create real polynomial model of power amplifier? with some problem - i don't have sync between amplifier and receiver on reference frequency. Thanks.
