RF propagation modeling in MATLAB

Greetings all,

   I'm trying to see if there is anything on the MATLAB Answers before I go at this alone. Perhaps there is a GUI out there on File Exchange that I don't know about yet.

   Anyway, what I'm trying to do is RF propagation modeling. Basically I'm sending out a single frequency for a certain amount of distance at a high conductivity, then sending out the same signal across a lossy medium that has volume to it (with a lower conductivity), and measuring the field to see what the step function looks like . This is just the basics but it gets more complex from there.

    Any hints from the resident MATLAB experts? Any toolboxes/GUIs I should look into for ideas? It seems like the possibilities are endless, but I would just like a start to put me in the right gear.

Hi Jesse, I realize it has been a while since your posted your question. However, I wanted to make you aware that the R2017b version of the Antenna Toolbox introduced some basic RF Propagation functionality. Check out the following reference page. Paul Costa
