I just installed matlab on ubuntu on a 64 bit linux workstation.
I am having problems with commenting. See the attached figure.
SEveral of the problems I am encountering so far: 1) The commented segment isn't highlighted in a different color as usual 2) When I right click some lines I want to comment, the "comment" feature is greyed out, as if it was disabled. Also the hotkey does not work for commenting (Yes, I am using the correct hotkey). I have to manually type in the percent sign % to comment something.
Any idea what the problem could be?

What's the extension on the file that you're trying to comment? Is it .m (lower-case M)?
