If your second element of the options parameter, number of iterations, exceeds 2^53 - 1, then the code might infinite loop, as that is the point at which it is not possible to distinguish between numbers that are closer together than 2 in binary floating point arithmetic.
On the other hand, if you were able to process 10^9 iterations per second, then it would take over 100 days of continuous computation to get that far. You would not be able to get that fast in practice, but it is right by "order of magnitude" for current CPUs.
