MATLAB can't resolve equation?

Hello guys, following equation:

x = (a * (b + x)) / b

It's not resolved by matlab with solve() function, but it's resolved correctly on wolframalpha.com website. Why? Thanks!

It IS solved properly using solve. As long as you use solve properly.

This works for me (in R2016a):

syms a b x
x = solve(x == (a * (b + x)) / b)
x =
-(a*b)/(a - b)
