trying to use 'readtable' command to read txt, file, but I couldn't specify the 'range' option

Hi, I was trying to use 'readtable' to read a very simple txt file 'abc.txt' as follows

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

with this command

T = readtable('abc.txt', 'Delimiter',' ','range','A:B')

but I was always told

 'Invalid parameter name: range.'

Is this because 'range' option only applies to excel file? Thank you.

Yes, Range is for spreadsheet files only.
