ZedBoard support package in a different module

3 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
I'm using now a Zedboard and it's support package. I would like to run hardware in the loop in a different platform, which is using same Zynq and allmost same pinouts. Idea is to transfer SD card from Zedboard to other board. Will there become something with Matlab linux or driver problems when starting the system which is not actually Zedboard?
The Zynq models are same. Ethernet, jtag, uart, ddr connections are same. The SD-card pins are in different MIO locations. Those need to be adjusted somehow.
- support package is ZedBoard - the different platform: Trenz-Electroni TE0720-03-1CF + TE0703 base module
Is there something which could prevent using the ZedBoard support package in the different platform?
Best Regards Antti

It will need some work, but it is possible. If the io is exactly same then it's quite easy to get running. Some work is needed if io's are not exactly same.

Great ! and in the case of the TE0720 ? A lot of work ? Are you aware of the TE0720-03-1CFA-S-TE0720-03-1CFA-S-Starter-Kit ? It is maybe easier to use the board with a carrier board ?
Thank you for your answers !

The carrier board is needed to boot from sd card. TE0720 will work, but there are different models. Try to choose most similar one to Zedboard. It will take some time to make board boot configurations properly. The second step is to configure device drivers. The board is quite different to Zedboard. Only Zynq is same type.
If all goes well, then its quite similar to run directly from Simulink. At least older 2017b version could be used. I haven't tested 2018a or b. Same licences are need as in Zedboard.
