n Windows Explorer you can right-click on the icon for MATLAB and select Properties and change the Start In directory to your home directory.

That "E:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2010b\bin" looks like it might be the start directory that you need to change.

Click on the field and type in the path of your home directory, which is probably somewhere on C:
This changes the directory that MATLAB starts up in, the directory that you would see if you used
pwd
right after starting MATLAB.
