Bidirectional converter in electric vehicle

9 views (last 30 days)
I am working on Bidirectional converter using Battery for Electric vehicle. I want to show regenerative braking using flywheel in my simulation. how to implement it?? In my circuit, there are two modes, Discharging and charging mode In discharging mode, my input source is battery for converter. so battery will run three phase Induction machine,at the same time, flywheel will store some of the energy into it in terms of mechanical energy. Machine will act as a motor. In charging mode, stored energy in flywheel will get dissipated in the shaft of machine and machine will act as a generator. So input is mechanical and output is battery as generator output is electrical. I want to charge battery this time. So direction of current flow is opposite here in this mode How to implement it in simulation???

Give a torque profile of two or four quadrant operation. So for example, during forward braking negative torque has to be applied (that is the braking torque for the motor/vehicle) and speed is decelerating. Imagine how we press brake while driving down a steep hence similar to that when we give negative braking torque speed decrease. Therefore, during forward braking battery soc increases because motor is acting as a generator (with back-emf higher that the input voltage).
I used bldc motor for my project.. let me know if you want any clarifications.

Hii monica how do you change the speed and torque profile like this.At a particular torque, how you will calculate the amount of acceleartion / deceleration? is it possible to chnage the reference speed like this?is there is any explanation for giving a speed profile like this?
