Reading RAW camera file

I am trying to import camera raw file in the Matlab and do further processing.
A piece of my code, where I read the file information:
fdir='C:\Users\gilpinheiro\Documents\AmScope'; fname='20161209122048.dng'; imgname = sprintf('%s\\%s',fdir,fname); meta_info = imfinfo(imgname);
The meta_info variable follows. There is no SubIFDs structure, referenced in the Steve blog:
