arbitrary slice from cardiac ct

hello. i am working on two image modalities, 2D echocardiography and 3D ct. i want to extract an slice from volume of ct equal to 4chamber view of echocardiography. im using a program in matlab that does this work with a center point and norm vector. but i dont know what should i import for center and norm.
