When clicked on Matlab icon does not start Matlab

Hello,
Lately when I click on the Matlab icon on the desktop, it does not start Matlab, but opens Matlab.bat in Notepad! If I run the command in Target in the icon: "C:\Math\MATLAB\R2007a\bin\matlab.bat -sd $documents\MATLAB" under a command window, Matlab works fine. What is the problem?

Check your file associations. In Windows 7, go to the Control Panel, type in "Associations" in the "Search" field (upper right-hand corner) and then select "Change the file type assciated with a file extension". When you find the .bat file, it should say "Unknown application", and I'm betting yours says "Notepad".
AFAIK the only way to clear an association is to edit the Registry. This is the procedure for Windows 7:

Hello Jason,
You are right. I deleted the registry key and it worked! Thank you.
