expansion of trigonometric formula and phasor term

I wanted to know that how we can split trigonametric formulas in MATLAB. as an eg. if i want to split (cos(a)*cos(b)) how can i split it as (1/2(cos(a-b)+cos(a+b))) like this?
and also how can i expand e^(jwt) = cos(wt) + jsin(wt)

syms w t
f = exp(1i*w*t)
rewrite(f,'sincos')
