Hello,
I used to have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Matlab R2016b. When I upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and installed Matlab R2017a on the same computer (with no changes to the hardware), there were graphical glitches introduced. When I double click on a variable in the workspace, I get a glitch with the graphics, as shown in the attachment. Has anybody noticed this kind of glitch before? Should I install the previous version of Matlab?
Thank you in advance.

As I understand, this may be due to an issue when the graphics drivers are updated. Can you try opening MATLAB using software OpenGL from the Linux terminal and confirm if you are still facing the issue.
$ matlab -softwareopengl

It doesn't help. I still get the same glitch. Also, matlab already prompts on the terminal that, "MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering.", whether I use -softwareopengl or not.
Matlab 2017a, debian stretch.
