I am trying to install the 2017a Matlab trial and when I try I get "Can't create output file: _temp_matlab_2017a_win64\autorun.inf". What causes this problem?
I have already found
https://nl.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/306950-why-do-i-get-can-t-create-output-file-when-i-launch-the-installer-i-downloaded-from-the-mathworks
I have checked that I have write permission for the folders I have tried it in so I don't think that is causing the problem is there anything else that could cause this?

I also had exact same problem. Use any unzip tool(WinZip) & extract the exe file(yes, try to extract it like a zip file). You will see some errors while extracting but skip the error & go ahead to extract remaining files. Now go to the extracted folder & run setup.exe. This worked fine for me.
