How to redeuce the blank space in the legend box?

14 views (last 30 days)
I am using the latest version of Matlab (R2017a). I would to reduce the blank space in the box legend of a plot. In the previous Matlab version you could use command like this "set(leg,'PlotBoxAspectRatio',[1 0.25 1]);". It seems that is not anymore allowed in R2017a. Am I wrong? Is anyone able to suggest me a solution? Many thanks.

You can use the 'Position' property of legend to modify the size of the legend box. The documentation for legend properties is available at:

from my experience, you cannot reduce whitespace inbetween marker and text using position property, right?
Yet, I would argue that this is one of the main issues regarding the need to reduce white space in the legend.
I can see why this thread has no accepted answers, yet.
Any updates since 2017?
