Simulink: referenced blocks, library or subsystems?

Hi all,
When creating a Simulink model, I wonder what are the benefits and the drawbacks in using
1. referenced models
2. subsystems
3. user-defined libraries

All three are componentization tools that suit specific needs. This page outlines these guidelines and you should adapt them to your application.
