student version for residents

Dear Mathworks,
Currently, I am appointed as a resident in Neurology at the University Hospital in Groningen, the Netherlands. I would like to buy the student version of Matlab for conducting research projects. Does my working status allow me to buy this version?
Best regards, Hans

You should ask your 'functioneel netwerkbeheerder' for access. The UMCG has multiple Matlab licenses, so you should be able to get one if you need one.
This is a question only Mathworks can really answer, but generally you aren't allowed to get a student license if you aren't a student (doing research doesn't automatically make you a student).
In Canada, medical residents are technically no longer students. Also, Student licenses are only for course work.
You might need an Academic license.
