Hi community, Im trying to generate a map using the mapping toolbox. By entering the code below I get a triangular outline of the map. Is there any way of making it rectangular.
Her is my code:
worldmap([55 90],[-10 40]);
load coastlines
plotm(coastlat,coastlon)
geoshow(coastlat,coastlon)
Thanks!

The reason you get a conic shape is because of the 'worldmap' syntax below which sets the latitude and longitude limits.
worldmap([55 90],[-10 40]);
By playing around with the latitude and longitude limits you would be able to get a rectangular outline of the map. For instance -
worldmap([-50 90],[160 40]);
load coastlines
plotm(coastlat,coastlon)
geoshow(coastlat,coastlon)
will result in the image -

Hi,
How do you show both E and W for a region on both sides of 180?
E.g. a Lon with this format: 130E 140E 150E.......180 170W 160W.....
