I want to use simulink in the study of images with artificial neural networks and I will make use of back propagation.
is anyone can help me in the process.
I had never used matlab simulink before.

It is difficult to recommend something to you with this level of information. In my view, your professor should give you some guidance. E.g. the first question is about the tool choice. Don't get me wrong, the tools will work, but who made the decision? This person should be able to give you guidance.

There are Simulink demos for the Neural Network toolbox, but they are about Control Design (e.g. predcstr.mdl). While the pattern recognition demos are MATLAB based.
I personally would start with predcstr.mdl and modify it step-by-step so that it becomes an image processing application.

I second Andreas's suggestion of selecting the right tools before you try to implement them. If your professor is not available for this, try performing a literature search, asking older students, or another professor on your committee. This effort will save you wasted time in the long run.
