Simulink 2017a and 2017b compatibility issue: "Changing entity attributes or its system properties ("entitySys") is not allowed in Preempt action"

Hi,

I have upgraded to Matlab 2017b but now a Simevents/Simulink model I developed in 2017a no longer works. More specifically I get the following error message "Changing entity attributes or its system properties ("entitySys") is not allowed in Preempt action for block 'BufferModel/Process 1/Entity Server'. See Preempt action, line 1, column 1."

This error arises when an entity is preempted in a server. I have an "Event action" for the preemption which changes an attribute of an entity (see image below). In 2017b my model now crashes.

How can I solve this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
