How to display multiple images on the same axis system ?

I have an Nx3 array with the coordinates of the vertices of N triangles which I have to color and then display the whole object with all the triangles filled. I want to display the initial image and then shift each point of the Nx3 array and fill again the triangles. Is there a way to display the new image in the same figure ? If the image with the shifted coordinates touches the old image, I would like to show them touching each other. I tried this:

pairOfImages = [X,I]; imshow(pairOfImages);

but the two images are shown in distance.
