In the Arduino program outside of MATLAB, does it recognize the MKR1000 and show that it is connected to one of your computer's ports? If Arduino does not recognize the MKR1000 either, it is possible that the board is burned out: this may have happened if you subjected it to too strong of a power source. A burned-out board may have its ON LED light up when it is plugged in, but it will not be recognized by Arduino nor MATLAB.

hi, i have a similar issue, although the Arduino program recognize the MKR1000 without problems and i can even run the blinking light and some other programs.
now, when I am trying to do the arduinosetup in matlab, it recognize the board in a specific port and when i click on program it says " Failed to program the arduino board "
next i did was, " If you receive an error message related to source not being found for the Arduino/MKRMotorCarrier library, then type edit ArduinoKitHardwareSupportReadMe.txt in MATLAB Command Window and follow the instructions provided on this text file. "
after that same problem happened,
also, is it normal that the mkr1000 gets kind of hot? I want to say that it may be burned, but will arduino recognize it either way?
thanks.
