How to ensure arrow keys control uitable movement in a stable way?

I create a uitable and find arrow keys could be used to control its movement. However, the step is varied so it creates problems when I built a slider. After clicking "rightarrow" key, it will move to right direction two units distance or one unit, but slider always only moves one unit distance and thus they are not coordinated. Is there a way to control arrow keys' step size?
