App Designer Crashes on start up

Hello, I am using matlab 2017b in Win10. Whenever I run "appdesigner" in the command line, I see a window pop up and close immediately. I also cannot open any .mlapp file. Also, there are not any warnings or errors popping up. I am very confused. Any ideas?

I had this issue with 2016b and never figured it out. However, I installed a newer version (2018a) and the issue didn't occur on it (haven't checked on 2016b again, though it coexists on my Win10).

I tried with 2018a and the problem did not occur on 2018a.

On my laptop, app designer in 2017b functions perfectly in Win10. However, the problem I am encountering is on desktop.

Are you able to open any other app from the 'APPS' tab, like 'Curve Fitting' or 'System Identification'?

Try executing the following commands to try regenerating preferences and restore MATLAB to default paths

restoredefaultpath
rehash toolboxcache
savepath

If the problem still persists, can you provide the output after executing the following commands? The code is supposed to open a Window with MathWorks Homepage.

I am having the same issue. I am able to open other apps, just not the appdesigner. Problem still persists after the suggested commands. Here is the output to the second commands (the Mathworks page does pop up):
