how to make montage read one image at a time from a cell array of unit8 images and assemble them into a single image?

Hi everyone ! i've a cell array which contains the images I've created previously

a =

    1×14 cell array

      {246×272×3 uint8}    {246×272×3 uint8}    {246×272×3 uint8}    {246×272×3 uint8}    {246×272×3 uint8}

and i want put all the images of my array a all together in one figure with montage i've tried to do

montage(a)

but i've this error : The specified filename is not a string.

so i've do this :

for i = 1 : numberofImages
    montage(a{i},'Size',[1 numberofImages]
end

so in this way montage read my a{i} image but overtime it opens a new figure and don't want this hope you can help me thanks
