Hello,
I tried it with a trail licence and a old license (without service maintenance), but it didn't work.
Then I found an alternative online service, it runs Octave and Matlab scripts and commands, it's really good.
The service is OctaveOnline, and you can reach in -> https://octave-online.net/
"Octave Online · Cloud IDE compatible with MATLAB"
I tested it, and it works, best regards,
ACR-

The EULA there does not appear to to me to be compatible with GPL that Octave is published under.

I have the same question after a year. Maybe someone can answer it now.

The answer is NO, trial licenses cannot be used with MATLAB Online.
