unexpected error when trying to open MATLAB

I am getting the message "Something unexpected occurred" when trying to open MATLAB. What should I do?

You should click on the Contact Us link in the upper right corner of this page and request Technical Support.
If that page refuses to do anything without the ver results (since you obviously cannot run the ver command), you may have to call Technical Support instead.
