Why will I get below error? What might be the error?

plot=3*sin(2*pi*t+pi/2,'.-k');
While I was trying to run the code it is showing error like too many input argument using sin.

plot(3*sin(2*pi*t+pi/2),'.-k')

Reason: plot should be followed by parantheses not "=" .
