capturing signal from an optical sensor (from a computer mouse)

I am trying to read the signal from an optic sensor connected to my computer via USB. I have tried to used the visa function but so far I could not make it work. How could I know the vendor and the resource name of the VISA? And how can I know the drivers I need for that vendor?

I've never heard of a computer mouse that had a VISA interface. What manufacturer and model is it?
