how to use two webcams to capture one image

hey am doing a project on laser tracking. i was able to do it with one webcam however the region captured by the webcam is rather too small and so i would like to use two webcams to enlarge the region covered. how do i get the system to combine the regions captured by the two webcams? code would be of help.

Hard to make suggestions without detailed knowledge of the setup. How close together are the webcams? How much overlap is there between their fields of view? What is visible in the images, other than the laser spot? Are the webcams static? Is the rest of the environment static?
