change figures back to the way they were before 2018b

I am updating a figure at a 100hz and in versions of matlab after 2018a the performance is significantly affected. I timed the code and there is at least a 50% decrease(maximum observed was 300% decrease) in performance in 2019a when compared to 2018a. I believe this is because of the changes made to figures in 2018b and was hoping there was a way to revert the figure properties back to the way they were before 2018b without needing an older version of matlab.

Hmm I wonder what changes between r2018b and r2019a to the graphics are causing the slowdown.
