Hi, I am an intern that is totally new to MATLAB, but I have been tasked to identify particles and analyse how much have they differed from a perfect sphere.
It would be great if anyone can provide me with some help. I have uploaded an example of how the particles will look like. 40x.png

If you don't need the overlapping particles you could filter them out by area and just use regionprops to give you properties of the remaining grains. You will need to do thresholding/edge detection to turn into a binary image first.

Hi Eleanor,
I managed to get the data using the code provided in here: https://www.mathworks.com/help/images/identifying-round-objects.html
However, I would like to express the data obtained in a histogram, could you help me with that?
