            Hi,
I want to turn off datatips in the editor since they get in the way of selecting text. In preferences I have already set
MATLAB->Editor/Debugger->Display->Enable datatips in edit mode
to false, but they still apear when editing my LiveScripts. This is an extremely irritating feature because the tips often pop up over what I am trying to select, so that I can't see what I am selecting. I am using R2020a.
Thanks, Matthew.

				First the "fix" is for R2017, this is still happending in 202b
Second this intermittent. And very agro.
I have data tips on in the "view pane" and in the editor/display preference.
How can I turn of this distraction?

				Joseph Becker:
Have you installed R2020b Update 2 yet?
I skimmed over the release notes for that a few days ago, and I think I saw fixes for datatips listed for it. I am not sure, though, as I was skimming hundreds of changes.

        Matlab 2021a, settings for "Enable datatips while editing" is broken. Behaves as enabled regardless of the setting in either the View tab or in Preferences>Editor/Debugger>Display: "Enable datatips in edit mode".
