Combining standalone license with network license. Using offline.

I would like to use my standalone copy of MATLAB with some Toolboxes for which we have a network license. I installed MATLAB using these instructions

I can use the Toolboxes when I am connected to the network, but I cannot use MATLAB (without the Toolboxes) when not connected to the network (MATLAB does not start). How would I fix things so that I can do that?
Mac OS 10.8.2 + MATLAB 2012b
