Why GoogleNet trains faster than AlexNet.?

While training with the same dataset with GoogleNet and AlexNet, GoogleNet trains faster than AlexNet. Why.? I am using the same learning rate, epochs, batchsize in both GoogleNet and AlexNet. For the same dataset GoogleNet trains at 45min, while AlexNet trains at 10hrs. How I can make this AlexNet training faster.??
