Will MATLAB Live editor ever support spellcheck?

It is quite frustrating when writing documents in MATLAB Live editor to find there is no spellcheck facility.

Will it ever? Let me check my MATLAB crystal ball.
Hmm, it tells me you may soon come into a large sum of money. Or, maybe it is telling me you may soon be spending a large sum of money. A bit ambiguous. But as for spellcheck ..... Nothing there.
Let me check the MATLAB Tarot cards. They tell me that spellcheck MAY possibly be a feature, some day in the future. But I also see something vague about a mysterious stranger...
But remember that Answers is not a site where we could tell you anything about future releases. Even if I knew anything, it would be protected by an NDA.
You could submit a feature request. After all, they do want to know what people are actively looking for.

Somedays, that alone is all I can want.

Hello Alex,
It took quite some time but now starting from 24a MATLAB does support spellcheck in Livescripts.

Hope is not too late for you!
Best,
Lorenzo

"Will MATLAB Live editor ever support spellcheck?"
You should assume that the answer to all questions about whether MATLAB will ever support a particular feature, is NO.
There are an infinite number of features to be implemented, and a finite amount of resources and time to implement them, so the statistical probability is a finite number divided by infinity, which is Zero.
In extremely limited cases, some Mathworks insiders have knowledge of features that are scheduled to be released within a few months. However, Only the product managers and upwards are authorized to release information about forthcoming releases. Oh, and Sales.
If the matter is important to you, ask your Sales person, who might be able to get some response under Non-disclosure Agreement. But the people who read your question here either don't know or cannot tell you what they know.

I'm happy to tell you all that spellcheck is now supported as of R2024a. I discuss it in the MATLAB Blog here Two of my ‘White Whale’ features have been added to MATLAB R2024a » The MATLAB Blog - MATLAB & Simulink (mathworks.com)
