Hi,
I have just started to learn PLCs. I want to set up a communication between plcs and matlab. Can anyone help me in this field. Basically i want to exchange the data set in PLC variables and store it in the PC.
Regards, himanshu

Hi Himanshu, I have never worked with B&R PLCs, but I have done the same with Siemens Products. The Method should work for you too.
  • Collect all your Data on your PLC
  • Send the data via TCP or UDP to your PC
  • Use one of the Matlab-Toolboxes which provides network-functionality (the free one from Peter Rydesäter: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/345 is fine) to receive all your Data
  • do some Post processing (converting Big/little Endian, split Data etc) in Matlab/Simulink
hope that helps
Fred
