how to set different limit for plotting graph

what syntaxes is to use if i want x axis limit 10 to 50 with gap of 10
and y axis limit 0.86 to 1.00 with a gap of 0.02
& actually i wanna plot this (but giving error)
x=[10, 20 ,30,40,50]
y=[0.987, 0.972, 0.958, 0.938, 0.919]

Read about xlim, ylim, xticks, yticks.

xlim=10:10:50;
ylim=0.86:0.02:1.00;
x=[10 20 30 40 50];
y=[0.987, 0.972, 0.958, 0.938, 0.919];
plot(x,y)
giving error
