systematic random sampling from excel file

Hello,
I have a list of people on an excel file. I need to select them with a systematic random sampling to ask them to participate in my experiment.
Can some expert of matlab tell the code to make matlab select them in a systematic random sampling.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mig

Let's say you have 537 people in your excel file, numbered 1-537. You can use the command
participants = randperm(537)
to randomly order those 537 numbers. Then, your first participant is the person with the number in participants(1), the second participant is the person with the number in participants(2), and so on.
