what is meant by knapsack algorithm? can anyone suggest me an alternate algorithm for it? Can i use Greedy algorithm?

The definition of "knapsack algorithm" is something you should be researching through other resources, as it is not a MATLAB question. Please use wikipedia or Google. This forum is about MATLAB, and is not a general research forum. When you have found the information you want and have found (or written) an algorithm, then give a try at writing it and we can help you identify the sources of error messages you encounter along the way.
