Matlab 2017b installation

After installation of matlab 2017 and activation, I could not find it on desktop, do I need to do some other thing beforr zi can access matlab? what are the possible causes and solutions.

What operating system are you using? For windows the setup should add something in the start menu. Otherwise you should be able to find an executable in the bin folder (in the folder where you installed Matlab).
I am using microsoft windows 7 ultimate.
Did you check the installation folder? From memory I would say windows 7 should be supported for 2017b.

You should be able to find the orange peaks icon on your desktop (maybe) but definitely under the Start menu. Under the start menu you can right-click and pin it to the taskbar or desktop or start menu.
