Whenever I close MATLAB after runnig any program, A folder named "Users" is created that has subfolder and subfolder and on and on and its empty. I have matlab installed in D drive. The folder is created there. I have tried everything like userpath, userpath clear etc but still its there. I even made a new userpath at the folder location and then cleared it. But still its not going away. So everytime i have to delete the folder. Suggest me how to get rid of it. Thanks

The same thing happens for me, reinstalling Matlab doesn't work, an empty folder is created on my F:\ drive as: "F:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\MATLAB\R2021a" on every exit from a Matlab session. F:\ is my data drive and my working folder is F:\Data\Matlab
Advice anybody please?

I have been talking with MATLAB help..after a more than 2 weeks of looking into this issue this is what they say:
I have been collaborating with a few members of the development team to isolate and address this issue. We have deduced the root cause of the issue, and have investigated whether any workarounds were possible. As it turns out, the issue has already been resolved in the upcoming release of MATLAB (R2021b), but a robust solution does not currently exist for R2021a. Unfortunately, this means my best recommendation is to stick with an earlier release of MATLAB in which this issue is not present (R2020b or earlier) until the full release of MATLAB R2021b.

This issue isn't reproducible at our end in both Windows and Mac machines. I would suggest you to reinstalling MATLAB 2021a at your end and check if the issue get resolved. If still that doesn't work you may contact support for further help.
