imfuse with different colormaps?

5 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
So, I've two image matrices (figure 1 and 2) and one can use imfuse to obtain the composite image (figure 3). I'm wondering if it is possible to have figure 1 and figure 2 plotted with different colormaps and have these different colormaps retained while utilizing imfuse.
For your reference, the two image matrices are also attched.
Thank you very much in advance.
Cheers!

new_img = imfuse(img_1,img_2,'blend','Scaling','joint');

x_rgb = ind2rgb(im2uint8(new_img_x),parula(256));
y_rgb = ind2rgb(im2uint8(new_img_y),copper(256));
new_img = imfuse(x_rgb, y_rgb, 'blend','Scaling', 'joint');
image(new_img)
