I would like to install the Computer Modern Fonts directly on to my Mac. I need to install the fonts from the MATLABROOT/sys/fonts/ttf/cm directory. The result of executing MATLABROOT in the MATLAB command prompt is
/Applications/MATLAB_R2009b.app
However, when I open Font Book, click on "Add Fonts..." and try to browse in the MATLABROOT directory, the directory is empty.

The contents of MATLABROOT is hidden because MATLABROOT is an .app directory. To reveal the contents of the directory, CTRL-click on the Application Icon in Finder and select "Show Package Content". This will allow you to navigate down the directory tree.
To install the Computer Modern Fonts using Font Book, copy the directory MATLABROOT/sys/fonts/ttf/cm to another location outside of the .app directory. (/home/user/Desktop, for example). Then open Font Book and navigate to the new directory you created. Once the fonts are installed you may delete the copied cm folder on your Desktop.
