Erik Cuevas received the B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 1995, the M.Sc. degree in Industrial Electronics from ITESO, Mexico in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany in 2006. From 2001 he was awarded a scholarship from the German Service for Academic Interchange (DAAD) as full-time researcher. He is currently full-time Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Guadalajara. Cuevas serves as editorial board member for the Journal of Mathematical Problems in Engineering. His current research interest includes computer vision and evolutionary computation.
