Add a new unit in SimBiology app

2 views (last 30 days)
Hi,
I'm using SimBiology with MATLAB R2019B on Mac and I'm trying to add a new unit in the SimBiology app. I'm trying to add the unit "CFU" but when I open the Unit Menu Customizer and try to add it there I get the error message attached. Unfortunately I cannot find the menu the error message refers to. Does anyone know where to find it?
Many thanks,
Jacopo

Hi, Jacopo,
Unfortunately, the instructions in the error message are outdated. In R2019b, you can access the Units Library from the SimBiology Desktop. Click on the "Content" button next to the address bar, then select Libraries and then the Units library (see attached screenshot).
Access to these libraries may be simplified in a future release of SimBiology.
Best,
Priya

Thanks Priya. Just one additional question: when I try to define the CFU unit, I can add CFU as name but then in Unit Composition I cannot use CFU as a unit as it says that it does not exist. What should I do?
Many thanks,
Jacopo

Hi, Jacopo,
First you have to add CFU and define it in terms of other existing units. Then you can use CFU as a unit for SImBiology species, etc. or you can use it to define other new units based on CFU. You can also automatically use your new unit with any of the prefixes (e.g., kiloCFU). Hope this information helps.
