R2020a Update 4 does not work

Hello, I have installed R2020a, and after that I have downloaded the update4 package, followed the instructions for the commandline (offline) update, performed the command in a dos-window and waited untill the update task disapeared in the task-manager.
After starting R2020a again, the red update-sign in the top-right of the matlab window was gone, indicating that there were no updates.
However, when selecting "Manage Add Ons" I get the message:
Dot indexing is not supported for variables of this type.
Error in matlab.internal.addons.AddOnsWindow/bringToFront (line 68)
obj.webwindow.bringToFront();
Error in matlab.internal.addons.Manager/show (line 51)
obj.addOnsWindowInstance.bringToFront();
Error in matlab.internal.addons.launchers.showManager (line 70)
matlab.internal.addons.Manager.getInstance.show(navigationData);
the ver command also shows no update:

TMW Support is available for installation and startup issues -- call the support line.
Interesting. A few minutes ago, I went to verify the Update download procedure, and noted that apparently R2020a Update 5 is available. However, when I tried to actually do the update (after waiting a few minutes for MATLAB to completely close, something I always recommend), I got:
Something is obviously wrong somewhere, since it usually installs the update or says that my installation is current.
I have submitted a Service Request for my issue. I suggest you do the same for yours.
It happened the same way for me. Thank you for submitting the service request. I'll wait.
I’m ‘Following’ this, so I’ll do my best to post the MathWorks reply back here.
A gentle reminder would be appropriate, in the event I get distracted by less-pressing problems (such as SARS-CoV-2)!
I also find it interesting that the availability of updates seems to be signalled in such an unobtrusive manner that I would have skipped update 4 if this thread had existed 3 days ago.

Rik — The Updates are sometimes signalled by a red dot that appears near the ‘bell’ icon in the upper-right corner of the MATLAB desktop window. That’s the only notification I’m aware of. I usually watch for the Bug Reports. See specifically: Manage Your Communication Preferences and Learn more about release updates if you’re not already receiving them. When a page or more of them comes out, I know it’s time to check for an Update.
Of interest, just as I was typing this, I recieved this MathWorks email:
Thank you for contacting MathWorks Support.
That's very interesting. Have you tried restarting you computer to see if that would clear things up? Obviously, your MATLAB still needs Update 5 as ver shows it is Update 4. Can you update me on the laptop?
There's more to it, although those only involves the Case Number and some other items specific to my request, so there’s no need to include them here.
For the record, the laptop Update failed as well. I’ll reboot my desktop and see if that changes anything, and if it does, reboot my laptop as well before trying Update 5.
STAY TUNED!
EDIT — (20 Aug 2020 at 21:27)
Rebooting didn’t solve the problem. Still no Update available.
EDIT — (20 Aug 2020 at 21:59)
I have notified MathWorks of this as well.
EDIT — (21 Aug 2020 at 19:32)
The latest from MathWorks:
So I'm getting confirmation that Update 5 has not even been released yet. I'm not sure how you got the message that Update 5 was available, but testing on multiple sessions on our side, Update 5 is not yet available.
I replied that I had gotten no message, and was simply in the process of verifying the update procedure beccause I always do my best to verify that what I post is correct before I post it, when I discovered the mythical Update 5.
.
That is the downside of a 4K screen: that dot is very small. I have had several times now that an actual window would appear, but only once per machine and it disappears never to come back once you click anywhere else.
I also haven't seen the red dot for u5, and I might be mistaken, but for u4 I didn't see it either.
Following bug reports to get notified about a big update (either update or upgrade) is a smart idea, I might steal it from you.
In my experience, updates sometimes get listed on the bell before they are available to me.
On occasion, Mathworks has temporarily withdrawn an update after making it available. I do not know if that happened in this case.
@Star Strider, It must be some minor mistake on the Mathworks site. You saw that link and tried installing it. I tried a few times without success. Now that "Update 5" link is gone. I should have taken a snapshot.
I saw the Update 5 possibility myself, but it was not available when I went to activate it, and now it is no longer listed. I expect that Mathworks withdrew it due to some problems.
FYI, I will attempt to remove the license number from the inital post. It is not ideal to publish it to the world.

Your update is not installed. Should look like this:
>> ver matlab
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MATLAB Version: 9.8.0.1417392 (R2020a) Update 4
Click Help-> Check for Updates. Update 5 is available now. Maybe install it from there.

I also saw the Update 5, even try to install it, but all I tried failed.
At the end I decided to completely remove the R2020, and installed it again from the Mathworks.
At that point in the install of R2020 was the update 4 included.
That install succeeded and my ver-infow also shows the update 4.
The update 5 was not present anymore!
Thanks for the comments and answer
It also happens to me and I end up doing the sam thing, reinstall R2020a.

Do not use Add-Ons.
In R2020a, use: Help —> Check for Updates
