The problem is too badly formed and needs to be structured with the test suits or at least mention the conversion factor

1 ft is exactly equal to 0.3048 meters (1 in = 2.54 cm). The conversion factor for this problem needs to be updated to reflect this value else correctly solving for each solution set is more trial and error and less math.
