How do is use Simulink with G29 Logitech Wheel to get input ?
Show older comments
Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well. I've just got the G29 wheel along with the gear shifter and evolution Playseat. I also got the new Project Cars 2 game as I'm working on a project to get driving inputs (Wheel angle, pedal position, acceleration) from the simulation. I just want to know if there is anyone who succeeded extraction inputs using Simulink and how that could be done.
Thank you.

Were you able to solve it?

Hi,
it seems that you need Simulink Real-Time, which provides the following block to read inputs from Logitech G29 Steering-Wheel:
have you already tried? Is there any challenge?

I dont have a real-time machine at my end. I worked with the joystick block available in the library browser. I think they should have this block atleast from simulink desktop real-time but as of now it is only supported for Speedgoat machines.

just a question, last year I saw that it was necessary to use the speedgoat between the logitech G29 and matlab, but I have already used the wheel to play games only by plugging it by USB, why do we need the goat to retrieve the input, we can not do it normally at the level of the USB port? sorry, if my question is perhaps stupid, I do not know the subject well but I am curious

@kaci If you don't have a Speedgoat real-time target and want to connect the G29 to your Desktop PC, you can try the "Joystick Input" block from Simulink 3D Animation toolbox:
